why

"why" build? is probably the elemental question of architectural theory. It has to do with making a place (key word) for us (humans). Ultimately, our desire for a place (I am assuming) seems to originate not in our ability to experience pleasure, but in the prodigiousness of that ability. Thus, humankind's desire to experience pleasure and humankind's ability to influence the environment concomitantly evolved. Of course, the question is not only elemental, as such, but, also, universal. In this sense, the specific notions of designers/builders (real or theoretical) are to be evaluated, which is, again, basically, the aim of this whole "archeverse" concept.
